Less Words Project
If a word takes away my power in any way, or disempowers people capable of hearing me speak, I will not use that word. I will remove it from my vocabulary if needed and I will smack my lizard brain if it attempts to whisper it to me.

urgent
Stuff is rarely urgent. And yet, people can't stop using that word and making other people's lives miserable. Right now, as I am writing this, two people in my e-mail inbox claim something is urgent. To whom? If I do not do this thing now for you, will your world and my world crumble to pieces tomorrow? If it's not 2012 urgent, it can wait another hour or another day. Because, you know, one day it will really be urgent, and then you don't wanna be like "the boy who cried wolf". I will not be adding to the world's misery by making people do stuff urgently for me.
